Northern Velebit is an ideal destination for all those who prefer active holidays and relaxation in intact natural surroundings where you can experience the charm of pristine wilderness. You will be able to choose from over 30 mountain trails that run through different landscapes offering you countless possibilities for exploring the region. For easier orientation, all mountain trails are waymarked with signposts installed at intersections stating the average hike duration in hours. Almost all of the trails lead to mountain peaks that afford magnificent views of the sea, the Adriatic islands and the region of Lika. The existing mountain trails and paths are also suitable for other activities such as trekking and hiking.

In and around the Park there is a network of partly dirt (macadam) and partly paved roads that are excellent for cycling and cycling tours of Velebit.

The dynamic change of landscape, the diversity of animal and plant life, and the vagaries of weather will inspire you to take photos to capture the magical moments on Velebit.

“Mountain playhouse” on Alan – offer

At Alan, in the Educational and Interpretation Center “Mountain playhouse”, you can get acquainted with the “Nature of species and habitats” of the National Park (large animals, deep pits, rocky plants), and learn something about the traditional way of life of shepherds. In front of the “Mountain playhouse” there are three outdoor exhibits (Mossy Wind, Water in the Karst and Shepherd’s Life). In part of the playroom, there is an area for children’s education, in case it cannot take place outside. In addition to being an exhibition and educational space, this facility also serves as the Park’s information point, and it also has a small souvenir shop.

Shepherd’s apartments on Alan – offer

If you want to rest and recharge your batteries, experience untouched nature with a sense of primeval wilderness, shepherd’s apartments on Alan will provide you with a superb experience. In each of them, you can learn something about the species of the National Park, after which the apartments are named.

By placing educational boards along some hiking trails, we wanted to enrich your experience and the experience of the wild beauty that our Park offers.
