Info about visiting the North Velebit National Park

Where to buy admission tickets and get information?

Since the Northern Velebit is a mountain park, the visiting season depends on the snow cover on the mountain peaks. The Park is normally open to visitors from the beginning of May till the end of November.

Babić Siča is the main entrance to the Park where visitors can buy admission tickets and souvenirs as well as obtain useful information. Admission tickets can also be bought at the Alan Mountain Hut or inside the Park from our ranger service.

Velebit House is a visitor and information centre for visitors to the Northern Velebit National Park. It is located in the Village of Krasno, one of Croatia’s largest mountain settlements. Here you can find out what to visit and to experience in the Park, Krasno and its surroundings, and buy tickets and souvenirs.

Working hours of Babić Siča entrance depends on the time of year and weather conditions. Information on working hours will be promptly published in this web-site, in the column Important notices.

Accommodation – info

On the Park territory there is no visitor infrastructure suitable for longer stay. Simple accommodation within the Park is available only in two mountain huts on Zavižan and Alan. Different types of accommodation including rooms, apartments, boarding houses, hotels, and campsites are available in the Park surroundings, in the adjacent towns and villages of Krasno, Sveti Juraj, Jablanac, Senj, Otočac, etc.
